Using Keep&Share you can store any type of PC or Mac native file. We allow any file type or extension to be uploaded as long as it passes our virus scanner and the uploaded file doesn't exceed the individual file size or the total storage capacity of your account.
Files from your account can be downloaded by others as long as it doesn't exceed the monthly bandwidth allowance for your account.
The following extensions are some examples of the file formats that we support:
- Word Documents (example: .PDF, .DOC, .DOCX, .HTML, .RTF, .ODT)
- Image Files (example: .JPEG, .JPG, .GIF)
- Powerpoint (example: .PPT)
- Spreadsheets (example: .CSV, .XLS)
- Calendar Files (example: .CSV, .ICS)
- Audio or Video Files (example: .MP3, .AVI)
If your uploaded file is a common file type, like a word document (.DOC, .DOCX, .HTML), an image (.JPEG, .JPG, .GIF), or a spreadsheet, then we provide a built-in preview of your uploaded file. If the uploaded file is PDF, it can be opened and viewed in full by using your browser. Almost all browsers have their own PDF viewing capability.
Once these files are in Keep&Share they are referred to as “stored files.” In PC parlance they are also often known as binary files. This means that while you can store these files on Keep&Share, you can only edit them when you download them to your desktop computer and not from within your Keep&Share account. The only exception to this is any file that was created in Keep&Share and has the .KCS extension.
