Events are a type of calendar entry that is structured around a scheduled time. Event reminders are a way to notify you (and your calendar shares) about upcoming events in your calendar. Before creating an event reminder, be sure to set the timezone for your calendar so Keep&Share will know what timezone you are in. (Otherwise the reminders are sent out according to the California timezone, since that is where Keep&Share servers are located.)

Note: Event reminders are one of the advanced Event Editor features available only to paid Keep&Share accounts.

Problem: You are Not Receiving Emails

If reminder emails are not coming to you, follow these steps to solve the problem:

  1. Check the email settings screen and double check which email address you have registered on your account as your default email address. Email reminders are sent to your current default address.
  2. At this point, click the “Save and Send Now” button to send an immediate test email reminder.
  3. If you still cannot find the reminder email in your default email account, then follow these troubleshooting steps — most likely the email is trapped in a spam folder somewhere.

Problem: Your Friends are Not Receiving Emails

If your friends are not receiving the reminder emails, follow these steps to solve the problem:

  1. If you checked the “copy to all shares” box, check your Calendar's Share Control and make sure this calendar is shared correctly with those you want to receive the reminders.
  2. If you checked the “copy to my friends” box, click on the blue “friends” link and make sure your friends correct account names are on this list.
  3. At this point, click the “Save and Send Now” button to send an immediate test email reminder.
  4. If your friends still cannot find the reminder email in your default email account, refer them to follow these troubleshooting steps to stop their spam filters from trapping the email reminders.
  5. Your friends must verify the email address on their account before they will receive any email reminders. So, ask them to go to their Email Settings screen and make sure they have at least one email address verified.

Problem: Email Reminders are Coming at Wrong Time

  1. Go to your time zone section of the Account Settings in your Keep&Share Dashboard. Select the timezone that matches where you are so that the reminders will be sent relative to your time zone.
  2. Now set up an event for today that has a reminder set, where the time is later than the current time.
  3. Test the message system setup by clicking “Send Now” on the event reminder panel (this will test that the email is getting through).
  4. If the “Send Now” version doesn't arrive, then it's most likely an issue with your email system.
Note: For events that do not have a start time, the start time is considered to be 12:00 am. You can fix when your event reminders are sent by either giving your event a start time or basing your event reminder off of your event starting at 12:00 am.
